The briefing

The team behind the Alessandro Pagano Showroom in Studen, Switzerland had a story to tell, they just needed someone to tell it. So they came to SO Many Words. I listened to what the owners had to say about their inspiration behind the showroom and what they wanted their guests to experience. They were open to how the story would be communicated, but in the end we decided that a flyer and a website would be the best way to capture the unique, luxurious environment of the showroom and to encourage guests to book a tour.

the project

The flyer was printed in German and French, however the original copy was in English. Based on the briefing, I created a flyer outline and told the story of this unique showroom by creating content for headlines and small paragraphs of body text. I then coordinated with my network partners who write in German and French, providing them with a briefing that described the tone of the source copy, the goals the client hoped to achieve with the flyer and key points to keep in mind while transcreating. SO Many Words doesn’t work with translators – I work with copywriters who have translation skills, but who can write well in their own language so that the spirit and essence of the original copy is captured in the other languages as well. I calls this “transcreating,” and I offer it as a service from German to English.

I coordinated the transcreation so that the client could focus on other details of the business. I supplied my partners with the files, I answered any questions they had about the text, and when they were finished, I delivered the files to the client. Once the transcreated copy was in layout, I sent it back to my partners for a final proofread and sent any feedback or changes back to the client. The flyer was printed in French and German and handed out to guests at the showroom’s grand opening event.

The English content is currently used on the Alessandro Pagano Showroom website.
